Moses commands the Children of Israel to build the Mishkan, which will be God's dwelling place. Moses begins with the command to keep the Sabbath day. This places Sabbath as central to the creation of God's House. This places cessation of work as central to the creation of God's House.
Another forced cessation: after the Children of Israel volunteer up more material for the Mishkan than is necessary, Moses tells them to stop bringing.

The first level of creation is to pour your full life into
the created thing. And God breathed into
man the breath of life.
But what you create will not become itself until you stand away. This is creation through self-restraint. It is like the spirituality of Law: that is a spirituality of self-restraint. Through that self-restraint, you create a space for God to enter: you build a Mishkan.

This is also what God accomplished in His
tzimtzum at the Creation of the World. He
made Himself small and the Universe, that did not have the strength to carry
Him, could exist in His presence.
